kate & william, a classy wedding weekend in san miguel de allende
The emotion of blogging this wedding is beyond exciting. When I first spoke with Katie, - discovering that she also wanted Anna as one of the photographers for their wedding day - I immediately knew she was very artistic and that she was definitely going to have the wedding she envisioned.
We couldn't believe how she loved both of our work and how excited she was to know that Anna and I were actually married, so we became super excited to work with her and to see everything she was planning.
She talked about how she adores her “stud muffin” as she called William and how she was dreaming of a vintage Hollywood vibe wedding for a long time. We officially met when they visited San Miguel for their wedding planning and we spent an afternoon having an amazing engagement photoshoot. See the session over here.
Just a couple of months later, the dream wedding was real. A magical magazine-worthy weekend of events started, all the way from Texas to San Miguel de Allende; a city they chose partly for its resemblance to Florence, Italy and its remarkable culture, perfect for a destination wedding in an historical place and having a European feeling. People started arriving and everybody was amazed about how walkable and easy to visit the city is, how wonderful the people are, the food and architecture and just everything that makes San Miguel one of the best cities in the world to have a great wedding experience.
It was three days of happenings; starting with a pre-wedding couple session and a welcome party for the first day, followed by a colorful and traditional callejoneada up to their rehearsal dinner in the beautiful rooftop of Zumo and ending that second night toasting, while fireworks sparked all around town.
Lastly, but definitely not less important, the third day began early in the morning with all the wedding preparations in Hacienda Los Arcángeles and when everyone was ready, we went downtown where they celebrated a catholic ceremony in the Neo-Gothic and beautiful Parroquia by twilight.
And I have to say this, much of the day's attention was garnered by Katie and William's little daughter Winnie; the cutest and funniest red-haired girl of all time. She surprised William with a first look while he was expecting to see his bride, when she showed up and this was one of the highlights from the weekend.
Back at the Hacienda for the reception, the romantic atmosphere was transformed with that classy, elegant feeling the bride and groom radiated all the time.
Katie changed her look from a Grace Kelly bride into a rebel old Hollywood glam vibe. They danced, ate cake and laughed all night.
Here, the dreamy wedding of Katie and William.
